In + Out of the Frame

I photograph with a rangefinder camera, which allows me to see what’s beyond my “frame lines”. This unique vantage point means that I can see the cowgirl coming before she’s “within” the frame. Photographing with a rangefinder has changed the way I look at a scene. It’s as if you were in the theater and could see just beyond center stage, to the off stage area and then timed things for a perfect “walk on.”
